Vista is a resource hog. Windows 7 will replace Windows Vista. Windows 7 runs faster than Windows Vista with lower hardware requirements. Windows 7 is basically what Microsoft wanted Windows Vista to be but due to project management and going out of budget on a project they had to cut Vista short and release it so they wouldn’t lose any more money on their project. Basically Windows 7 is the new Vista. They both do the same essential things except that Windows 7 is probably 10x faster.

Vista is newer than XP. XP wasn’t replaced

Well here’s my thoughts about Windows, you judge it:

Running dual boot configuration Vista/Windows 7. Windows 7 is intended as the replacement for Vista just as Vista replaced XP as the current Windows OS

I don’t know that there are expected to be any significant hardware changes simultaneous with Windows 7. There are things like SSD drives likely to become more prevalent over time, and the new Intel i5 chips will likely impact some things (like push the i7 to be more expensive), but those are separate from the OS.

The main change might be computers pre-loaded with Vista will become less expensive as Windows 7 starts arriving pre-installed on things. Even then they’ll get free Windows 7 upgrades so they shouldn’t drop *that* much.

If some popular models start being in high demand, they may even go up in price.

Anyway, there aren’t any definite or predictable pricing changes for computer systems. The main ones that might drop would potentially be things pre-installed with Vista that *aren’t* eligible for Windows 7 upgrades because they come with Home Basic or Starter installed. Those would tend to be lower end laptops, which are also getting competition these days from low expense netbooks.

The Release Candidate should be out direct from Microsoft in the first couple weeks of May.

But as good as it sounds to be running, it’s still not final, so don’t expect things 100% bug free, especially if you have unusual hardware or programs that could have unresolved compatibility problems.

You should ask yourself,what are you using the computer for ? if you have enough power and memory to run your favorite software then why you need to upgrade ? Computers like a car to people.if you can’t drive faster than 50 to 60 miles ,why you buy Ferraro ?

like all Microsoft operating systems, given time and it will of course replace Vista, but not for a good few years, you have to bare in mind that XP is still very common so Windows 7 will take around 5 years at least to become popular
